The local villages, towns and cities are full of history. All are within easy access by car or bus. The ideal way to explore is by car where you are flexible to stay as long as you please. We do offer transport to local markets and such like if required.

Santa Cruz del Comercio
A quiet village with two bars and a small market on Wednesdays. It has a small shop and the municipal market is open monday to saturday to buy a selection of fish, meat, fruit and vegetables. The goat herds regularly hold up the traffic in the village square which makes this an idyllic spot to escape the modern world.
Morelada de Zafayona
Ten minutes drive from Santa Cruz. There is a Saturday morning market here, and a selection of breakfast and tapas bars to linger in. For those who just can’t give up the curry, there is a good restaurant two kilometres out from the centre of Morelada.
Pantano
Twenty minutes drive from Santa Cruz. The main attraction here is the gorgeous lake where you can sunbathe at the beach, swim in the lake and enjoy activities like canoeing.
Jayena
Thirty minutes drive from Santa Cruz. A tranquil village with plenty of tapas bars for refreshing drink whilst watching the old spanish men putting the world to rights under the shade of tree.
